Facility Summary: Inflow Nutrient Concentrations

This summary table provides representative influent total nitrogen and total phosphorus concentrations for selected HydroMentia Algal Turf Scrubber® facilities and pilot studies. The values are intended to help reviewers interpret ATS performance in the context of source-water nutrient concentrations. Many HydroMentia ATS systems were operated on surface waters, treated effluents, blended waters, or post-treatment waters with nutrient concentrations substantially lower than those typically used in algae-growth or wastewater-treatment studies.

Where possible, values are based on mean influent concentrations reported for the primary monitoring or performance period. Notes are provided where values represent a specific operating period, pilot phase, blended influent, or other defined basis.

The facilities are sorted by influent total phosphorus concentration, from lowest to highest, because phosphorus reduction was the primary design driver for many of these projects.
