HydroMentia Sponsors “Run for the Springs” Corporate 5k Run

Ocala, Florida (April 17, 2013)

Marion County’s first Run for the Springs Corporate 5K was hosted by Office of the County Engineer and its Stormwater Management Section. The “Run for the Springs”, a family-friendly 5K event was held this past Saturday at the McPherson Government Complex in Ocala, Florida. Participants enjoyed refreshments from the sponsors, live music, a children’s area along with prizes for the fastest-running companies and individuals.

Marion County is home to the Rainbow Springs, Silver Glen and Silver Springs, one of the world’s largest and most famous artesian springs. The Corporate Run for the Springs celebrated the community while raising awareness about steps that businesses and individuals can take to protect water resources. These include water conservation, wise fertilization and landscape watering practices and proper operation and maintenance of septic systems.

HydroMentia Team Captain Casey Demary placed 2nd in his age category and 11th overall out of 182 participants.
